About the Maker
Established in 1899 in Morgantown, West Virginia, the Morgantown Glass Company was founded by Frank Bannister. Renowned for its hand-blown glassware, the company underwent several name changes, including Economy Tumbler Company in 1903 and Morgantown Glassware Guild in 1939. In 1961, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedyselected their glassware as the official White House crystal, leading to the "President's House" line. The company was acquired by Fostoria Glass in 1965 and ceased operations in 1971.
