Culver Mardi Grass Highball

One of Culver’s most hard-to-find designs, the
Mardi Gras pattern is a truly a treasure in any home bar's collection. Produced in limited quantities from about 1959 to 1962, this striking design — featuring four 22-karat harlequin jesters playing musical instruments adorned with faceted glass beads — stands apart from Culver’s more commonly found patterns. The harlequin motif captures the festive spirit of its namesake celebration. This Double Old Fashioned set of 8 is particularly rare, especially in the near mint condition of the gold gilt and the attached glass jewels.

SUGGESTED USES:

  • Whiskey Highball
  • Mojito
  • Dark & Stormy
  • Rum & Coke

About the Maker
Culver Glass Company, founded in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg in Brooklyn, New York, became renowned for its luxurious glassware featuring 22-karat gold. To apply the gold patterns and textures the company used a secret, patented high-heat roll-on process. Culver's iconic designs, from gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, Egyptian and Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns and holiday designs, rose in popularity during the mid-20th century. Out of production for decades, Culver glassware is a highly desirable collectable today. It's a special treat to serve guests drinks in this glassware.
