Air Twist Stem Cocktail Glass - Sold as a Pair
Air Twist Stem Cocktail Glass - Sold as a Pair
A design feature inspired by 18th century glassware
The Air Twist stem, historically, is a type of decorative stem associated with glassware made in England between 1745 and 1750. The effect was created by small indents pressed into a gather of molten glass for a stem, which is then capped with another gather of glass. This trapped air in pockets which, when twisted as the stem was drawn, resulted in the twist design in the stems. These glasses, while the maker is unknown, are contemporary versions, rooted in history.
