Challenging design lead to short production run

Fostoria's Acanthus pattern was a challenging design to produce, leading to its brief production run. The intricate etching and detailing made it economically unfeasible, resulting in the pattern being pulled from production after only about two years, from 1930 to 1932. This complexity and short-lived availability make Acanthus pieces a scarce, yet highly sought after glass by collectors today. Included in the photo gallery is a vintage etching of the Acanthus plant that inspired this etching.
