Condition Notes
Previous owned, used. No chips, no cracks, nor cloudiness. Culver's gold gilt glasses, made in the 1960s, often show signs of wear in the form of gold thinning or having rubbed off. These glasses show virtually no sign of wear. However, if these are your first foray into Culver 22 ct gold gilt glasses, please note that the gold itself shows think lines, or breaks, all a part of the production process. Also note that the enameled red panels may show signs of uneveness of the application of color. Please view the detail photo for examples of these characteristics of the glassware. Again, a production characteristic. These marks tend to be common in Culver gold gilt glassware, even for glassware seldom to never used. Please study the photos for further reference.

Also, please note that the photography of this collection is true to the overall color hues and tones. However, a slight amount of increased saturation has been used in order to accent details.

About the Maker
Culver Glass Company, founded in 1939 by Irving Rothenberg in Brooklyn, New York, became renowned for its luxurious glassware featuring 22-karat gold. To apply the gold patterns and textures the company used a secret, patented high-heat roll-on process. Culver's iconic designs, from from gilded mushrooms, owls, cats, Egyptian and Asian inspired design themes, scrolling leaf patterns and holiday designs, were rose in popularity during the mid-20th century, and they've become highly desirable collectables today.
